Today is a day of luck - if we choose it to be

Today, being 8/8, is said to carry with it a potent energy—one of luck, alignment, and abundance. But what does that really mean? And how can we meet this day with enthusiasm and light, especially when life often can feel heavy or uncertain?

It begins with a shift in perspective: looking for the miracles that often hide in the shadows of storms. In every negative experience, thought, action, or reaction, there is often something quietly miraculous that follows. But how can that be true when we’re faced with truly awful experiences? How do miracles arise in the mundane, and how do they align us with luck when the world feels gloomy and chaotic?

It all begins within the mind.

For every action, there is a reaction. This is nature’s rhythm—yin and yang, cause and effect. And sometimes, the most profound truths reveal themselves in the most unexpected ways.

Take this true story: just this past Sunday morning, a drunk driver crashed through our yard, causing over $40,000 in damage. One of the vehicles destroyed a one-of-a-kind, customized sports car—my husband’s pride and joy. He built it piece by piece, poured his love into it, and shared it with our family. It was fast, zippy, and low to the ground. My children adored it. I adored it. And now, it’s gone.

But here’s the miracle: my daughter was asleep on the living room couch, mere feet from where the car barreled through our property. The driver didn’t hit the house. No one was hurt. This wasn’t the first time. It was the third. Five vehicles totaled over the years—just parked, just living life.

And yet, I felt it in my bones: this, too, was for a higher reason. Maybe that car, beloved as it was, would have led to something more serious. Maybe this incident will finally bring safety measures to our street and protect others. Maybe it was a wake-up call for the driver. We don’t always know why things happen—but on a day like today, I woke up feeling calm, safe, and protected. I woke up knowing that something greater is always at play.

We often look for something to blame—a curse, a location, a pattern. And while prayers of protection are beautiful, they lose their power when rooted in fear. I am not afraid of what life brings. Life is experience—good, bad, and everything in between. I’ve lived through enough to know that the lens we choose matters. And I choose one of empowerment.

So, does luck exist? Maybe. Do miracles exist? I believe so. And what if they’re one and the same?

What if we’re here to see through the illusions—of darkness, shame, guilt, fear—and give them a new voice? A new meaning? What if we are the creators of luck, the architects of fate, simply by how we respond?

Here’s the truth I’ve come to know:

Fate may be the path laid before us, but luck is how we walk it.

Cause is the spark, and effect is the echo.

And in every moment, we get to choose the tone of that echo—whether it’s fear or faith, resistance or grace.

When we respond with presence, with curiosity, with love, we shift the vibration.

We become the alchemists of our own experience.

We turn pain into purpose, chaos into clarity, and loss into legacy.

On this day—8/8, a portal of abundance and light—may we remember that luck is not something we wait for. It’s something we create. It’s a frequency we choose to embody. It’s the balance we bring to the world through our reactions, our reflections, and our resilience.

Let us be the ones who lift the vibration.

Let us be the ones who see the miracle in the mess.

Let us be the ones who walk with grace, even when the path is unclear.

Because in the end, the miracle isn’t just what happens. It’s how we choose to see it.
