Message from Shayla - My Experience with Danielle @ The Modern Spiritualist
"I've been writing Gods of Empires since 1999, and for much of that time, I didn't fully understand the spiritual connection I felt with the world and characters I was creating.
Taking Danielle's Path of the Rose I & II courses changed the way I understood myself, both spiritually and creatively.
Through her guided meditations, I began to recognize that what I had experienced for years while writing was something I now understand as channeling. It wasn't that Danielle created that connection for me. She helped me recognize a connection I believe had been there all along.
That realization inspired me to explore the spiritual dimensions of Gods of Empires more deeply, opening new creative possibilities and expanding my understanding of the universe I had spent decades building.
It also inspired me to revisit the Nine, whose story begins in the prologue of Shadow of the Falcon, and explore how their origins could be brought to life visually through a comic book.
The result was Gods of Empires: Rise of the Nine, a project that represents both a creative milestone and a deeply personal chapter in my artistic journey.
I genuinely believe this comic would not exist in its present form without the discoveries I made through Danielle's work.
I'm incredibly grateful for the space she creates for people to explore, question, discover, and reconnect with parts of themselves they may not have fully understood."

My work in storytelling, identity and self-discovery
My work over the years, like that of many visionaries and artists, has continued to evolve, allowing me to support clients across industries and through many different seasons of life.
My background is expansive, with specialties in the lifestyle arts, fashion, beauty, talent development and healing arts, including meditation, mindfulness, language and communication through neuro-linguistic practices (NLP), and mind-body awareness. I love to inspire magical living principles, which allows us to stay connected to something bigger and greater than the day-to-day tasks and pressures that modern society asks of us.
Today, I bring these tools together through the methods and frameworks I’ve developed and model through The Modern Spiritualist, my conscious living company.
Shayla is one of the many incredible women I’ve had the honor of guiding, supporting and mentoring throughout my more than two decades of work as a coach, educator, artist and visionary.
While I no longer teach Path of the Rose publicly, a six-month study rooted in nature-based practices and spiritual development, its teachings continue to inform my work.
Rather than offering it as a stand-alone program, I weave elements of those teachings throughout my methods and frameworks, creating individualized strategies and pathways that support each person’s growth, development and alignment with the life they are creating.
Shayla, it's been an absolute joy working with you these years and being witness to your amazing accomplishments. I can't wait to see what the future holds for you!
BIG Congratulations!
